As April unfolds on Cape Cod, nature enthusiasts eagerly await the mesmerizing phenomenon known as the herring run. This annual migration of river herring marks the beginning of spring and is a captivating sight to behold along the region's waterways.
The herring run refers to the remarkable journey of alewife and blueback herring as they return from the sea to their freshwater spawning grounds. One of the most popular spots to witness this natural spectacle is at the Stony Brook Grist Mill in Brewster, where the herring make their way upstream to Seymour Pond. There is a lovely trail spanning both side of the road that offers a variety of viewing opportunities.

Don't forget to let the kids enjoy the excitement of Hidden Hollow—it's sure to be a hit with them!

Join us for a charming afternoon celebration marking the debut of the Atwood Museum's latest exhibit, "A Place to Hang Your Hat!".
